Facing Travessa de Alferes Malheiro, this project is based on the rehabilitation of a pre-existing structure typical of Porto's architecture, transforming it into a multifamily building with five residential units:

• 1 T2 apartment
• 1 T0+1 apartment with a balcony (43 m²)
• 1 T0 apartment with a balcony (44 m²)
• 1 T2 Duplex apartment with a balcony (77 m²)
• 1 T1 Duplex apartment (67 m²)

The project strategy prioritizes the preservation of the original construction system and the maintenance of spatial organization principles, focusing on a non-intrusive intervention. The goal is to balance past and present, where the timeless nature of traditional construction harmoniously merges with contemporary design.

The project has resulted in five distinct apartments in typology, form, and size, making use of ceiling height, the relationship with the exterior, and the flexibility of the roof structure. The intervention fosters a continuous dialogue between the preserved or reconstructed original structure and the new elements introduced. The building combines the comfort of modern-day living with the romanticism of Porto’s architecture, creating a unique and inviting space, ideal for both residential living and tourism investment.
